IS COMPETIYION REALLY GOOD IN SCHOOL

               When the competition comes to our mind, our thoughts run to our school life time. In our school

time we go through competition in school. As a student, they have to face many competition in their school time. My point of view, competition in the education system is important competition shouldn’t be about who comes first or last, it should be taken on with the goal of including discipline and building self-esteem in ourselves by teaching us how to face failure.

Many teachers and parents have strong views on competition in schools. Someone think that it’s good and another one think that it’s bad. However, when look closely and think about that, my opinion is the competition in school education has both positive and negative aspects. I think that there are many advantages and few disadvantages in competition of school education. The main reason for competition is to get motivated for students motivation thrives in competitive situation while the students are put to compete they are challenging them to put in their maximum effort in grade to succeed in it. As well as I believe that competition in our education system is a must in order to bring out the best in a student. It helps students to develop their creativity and their skill sets. It also boosts their self-esteem, motivates them to become better and makes them mentally strong. Other than that competition helps to students to builds classroom community by help develop problem-solving skills. And competition brings out skills, talents, gifts and creativity that may not have seen within traditional classrooms projects.

But there are few disadvantages in competition in school education. Those are, sometimes the competition leads to depression among students. At that time teachers and parents need to understand that every student are not as genius others. Every student has it own skills and

                    

preferences and we must influence them according to their knowledge. So stress often comes with the competition. As well as competition select winner. At that time some students, less than perfect result may affect them very badly. That’s not good. At that time they think that they may seem, to lose self- confidence when they don’t win some times.

Although I said that competition is good, for school education, sometimes I have to break my opinion. Because the current education system focuses on scoring marks rather than understanding concepts, which leads to a race. Everybody wants to score marks rather than understanding and applying concepts. This is detrimental to the learning process and think competition should not be a part of the learning process and I think competition should not be a part of the educational process at all.

At the end, I like to say competition is not all good or not all bad for school education. When the correct balance is struck, competition is good part of school education that helps them to succeed. But the correct balance must be struck. It is necessary. So I think if teachers and parents provide good guidance and support to our students, the all disadvantages will be prohibited from their life
